Asus PadFone Mini 4.3 officially announced, comes with a 4.3-inch smartphone and 7-inch tablet

Asus has officially took the wraps off the Asus PadFone Mini 4.3 today in Taiwan. The PadFone Mini comes with a combo of a 4.3-inch mid-budget smartphone and 7-inch HD tablet. Mini 4.3 is the first PadFone in the PadFone series to come up with a 7-inch tablet dock, as all the earlier PadFone's had 10-inch dock. The device comes with dual-SIM slots.

Asus has officially took the wraps off the Asus PadFone Mini 4.3 today in Taiwan. The PadFone Mini comes with a combo of a 4.3-inch mid-budget smartphone and 7-inch HD tablet. Mini 4.3 is the first PadFone in the PadFone series to come up with a 7-inch tablet dock, as all the earlier PadFone's had 10-inch dock. The device comes with dual-SIM slots.

The Asus PadFone Mini 4.3 comes in three colours, Black, White and Cherry Pink, the first units will be black and is priced at NT$11,990 ($405 & Rs. 25,000 approx). The PadFone mini will go on sale in Taiwan, China, Russia, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Singapore.

PadFone's are actually a combination of a smartphone and a tablet, in which the smartphone is docked inside the tablet to run it, as it powers the whole device using its own processor and RAM.

PadFone station (the tablet dock) comes with a 7-inch (1280x800p) Super IPS display and 2,200 mAh battery, there is no storage, RAM and processor.

Whereas, the smartphone (PadFone Mini) in the device comes with a 4.3-inch qHD Super IPS display, 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 MSM8226 processor, Adreno 305 GPU, 1GB RAM and Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

The smartphone also comes with 8MP rear camera with LED flash, 2MP front facing camera, 16GB internal storage with expandable up to 64GB using microSD card and 1,500 mAh battery. The PadFone Mini is 8.68mm thick and weighs 105 grams, whereas the dock station weighs 310 grams.
