Google announced Android 4.4 KitKat earlier this year in October (early November actually), and the OS has just started arriving on the smartphones and looks like Google has already started working aka seems close to release the first update for the OS as Android 4.4.1 KitKat. Android 4.4 is currently only available on all the Nexus devices, Google Play Editions and Moto X.

KitKat

Folks at 9to5Google have noticed in server logs that Nexus 4, Nexus 5 and Nexus 7, but not the Nexus 10 were running on Android 4.4.1 KitKat. These devices were accessing the website from Google's Santa Clara campus in California.

In addition to the news, according to HTC ROM developer LLabTooFer, HTC One Google Play Edition will be getting Android 4.4.1 in near future, which means that the update is also going to come to Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition.

There is no word on what changes the update will bring, but we are expecting Google to resolve the audio issue of Nexus 5.
