The patent case between Nokia and HTC is still on, and recently a U.K. judge ruled that the HTC One Mini cannot be sold in the U.K. after December 6th. And today, according to High Court judge Richard Arnold’s public ruling, the HTC One successor, allegedly codenamed as HTC M8, will launch in U.K. in either February or March 2014.

HTC M8 back cover

"HTC is close to launching the successor flagship model to the HTC One. HTC has not revealed the launch date. Nokia has adduced evidence which suggests that the launch date is in the first quarter of 2014 and possibly as early as February 2014. HTC has not contradicted this. HTC's evidence is that the new phone will not contain any chips which have been found to infringe the Patent." - Judge Richard Arnold

According to Arnold's ruling, HTC will be launching the successor of HTC One in U.K. in the first quarter of 2014, as early as February 2014. The exact timeframe is not included into the judge's decision.

As HTC will be launching the HTC M8 in U.K. in February 2014, we might obviously see the official announcement of the smartphone in early-February.

Based on previous leaks, HTC M8 may come equipped with a 5-inch Full HD display, 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974AB) processor, Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB RAM, Android 4.4 KitKat with Sense 6.0 on top, 4MP Ultrapixel rear camera, 2.1MP front facing camera and 16GB internal storage along with fingerprint sensor.
