Samsung is said to be working on the second generation model of the not so popular smartwatch, the Galaxy Gear and the same will correct all the mistakes that the company made with it. The Galaxy Gear 2 will be more fashionable than the outgoing model. Samsung is said to make use of a flexible OLED display and the same will launch by March/April this year, tandem with the Galaxy S5.

The device is expected to come with a better UI and might be 15-20% thinner than the first generation. It should feature integration with a lot more devices rather than a handful of Samsung devices in order to appeal to a wider audience. Additionally, Samsung has gone to quite the extremes and has changed all the parts that look "dull or boring."

Wearable technology is still a long way away from gaining popularity but such small steps indeed do aid the cause of wearable technology. As long as we are on the topic of wearable technology, how can we forget the much famed Google glass.

Samsung Galaxy Glass Patent

Samsung is rumoured to be developing Galaxy Glass (tentative name) which will lock horns with the Google Glass. The device is reported to get unveiled at the IFA 2014 trade fair in September this year. The Galaxy Glass will be able to play music when connected with your device and receive phone calls via the earphones that will be built into its frame.

Samsung Galaxy Glass will give you hands free control over your smartphone. Samsung had applied for a patent last year which had thumbnail sized display over the left eyeglass of the device which makes it pretty much similar to the Google Glass.

Samsung plans on bringing itself to a game of the wearable technology arena and the Gear 2 and Galaxy Glass will help it do so.
