HTC is all set to announce its first mid-range Android phablet dubbed as HTC Desire 8 at the MWC 2014 next week. The smartphone has already been teased once by HTC on Chinese social networking website Weibo, and now again HTC has revealed another press image of the upcoming phone confirming the looks. In addition to the images, prolific leaker @evleaks has revealed the specifications of Desire 8 (codenamed HTC A5).
According to @evleaks, HTC Desire 8 will come with a 5.5-inch HD Super LCD 2 display, 1.6GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (MSM8928) processor, 1.5GB RAM and Android 4.4.2 KitKat with HTC Sense 6.0. The Desire 8 is rumoured to be available in black, white, red, yellow and purple colours.
The phablet is also reported to come with a 13MP rear camera with LED flash, 5MP front facing camera, 8GB internal storage with microSD card support and HTC BoomSound speakers. HTC will be announcing the HTC Desire 8 on February 24th - the first day of the MWC in Barcelona.
In related to the news, another mid-range HTC smartphone has appeared online. Carrying the model number D310W, the smartphone is found listed on Chinese certification forum TENAA.
As per the listing, HTC D310W features a 4.5-inch FWVGA display, 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 512MB RAM, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, 5MP rear camera and VGA front facing camera. No word on pricing and availability details yet. The smartphone might launch in China soon. We will update the post if any more information is gathered.
