LG has been Google's partner for a while now and has even produced the last 2 Nexus devices for the internet giant. It will soon launch its Android Wear based smartwatch which has just been teased by it on its Twitter and Google+ handle. It will be named the G Watch and is first of the many smartwatches based on the Android Wear platform that are on their way to Launchpad soon.
The smartwatch will have a square design (nothing like the Moto 360) and will feature a 1.65-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 280 x 280 pixels. It will feature a 512MB RAM alongside 4GB of internal storage. It is expected to go on sale in the second quarter of 2014. However, LG has not yet disclosed the pricing, availability and information related to roll out of the same.
Smartwatches seem to be the new thing in the wearable technology arena with every company wanting to make a mark by launching a smartwatch.
Motorola's Moto 360 has got the maximum attention till now but the G Watch from the stable of LG will be no device that won't catch up either. LG's popularity and fortunes are improving globally and the G Watch might just go on to become a part of the same as well in future.
