Samsung Galaxy Beam successor leaked, to come with a metal back and built-in projector

Samsung believes in launching devices that cater to almost everybody. Samsung believes in launching devices that cater to almost everybody. Two years ago when it launched the Galaxy Beam (a smartphone with a projector) it knew it was going to cater to a niche market with it but it surely did create a new segment. The smartphone didn’t do well because of mid-range specifications but Samsung is all set to launch a successor of the smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy Beam 2

Samsung Galaxy Beam 2, or whatever it will be named in final has just been caught on the interweb and will come with a metallic body (or plastic one that looks like metallic). It was caught on China’s Telecom Equipment Certification Center and will come with some mid-range specifications this time around as well.

According to TEENA, the smartphone will come with a 4.66-inch WVGA display unit which will have a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels which simply does not cut it for us in this time and age. It gets a 1.2GHz quad-core processor under the hood which could be either a Snapragon 400 or Snapdragon 200.

You will get a 1GB of RAM for multitasking. At the rear will be a 5MP camera and joining it in action will be a VGA (0.3MP) front camera. The device is headed to China for certification and will come in other variants as well. It will get the Samsung’s much talked about Projector lens as well which is the only stand out feature of the smartphone.

We hope that it’s a smartphone with a metal chassis and its other variants come with a better spec sheet. Samsung priced the original Galaxy Beam at par with S3 when it was launched first and if it does the same this time around, we doubt if it will sell well. Let us wait and watch how things turn out in future.
