Micromax has silently launched a new smartphone in the Indian market today. Dubbed as Micromax Unite 2, the smartphone is Micromax's first phone to run on Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The Unite 2 is the world's first phone with 21 languages support. It comes in four colour options which include Grey, White, Red and Green and is priced at Rs. 6,999.
The Micromax Unite 2 comes with decent set of specifications and will be competing tough with the newly launched Moto E, which is ruling the budget category. According to Micromax, the smartphone is now available from all leading retail outlets in India.
The Unite 2 supports 20 Indian regional languages plus English. The 21 languages on the Micromax Unite 2 are - English, Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Odia, Bengali, Assamese, Marathi, Nepali, Bodo, Dogri, Konkani, Kashmiri, Maithili, Manipuri, Sanskrit and Sindhi.
Micromax has pre-loaded the Unite 2 with numerous of apps including MAd app, which lets users watch ads, earn points & get money added to their phone balance along with Getit, Kingsoft Office, Opera Mini Browser, Hike, M!Games, M!live and Reverie phonebook and Reverie smartpad to save contacts, type, text in the preferred language.
On the specifications front, Micromax Unite 2 comes with a 4.7-inch WVGA Bright Graph IPS display, 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor, 1GB RAM and Android 4.4.2 KitKat with promised future updates through OTA.
Other specifications include an 5MP rear camera with LED flash, 2MP front facing camera, 4GB internal storage with expandable up to 32GB using microSD card and 2,000 mAh battery. Connectivity series include 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.
