Ever since the Galaxy S5 was released, there are rumors all over the tech media world suggesting the possible variants that Samsung could be prepping based on its flagship model. While the Galaxy K Zoom, the camera centric version of the Galaxy S5 is already official, it appears like the South Korean tech giant is looking to bring the Galaxy S5 Mini into the spotlight.
Popular Twitter user @evleaks has revealed a screenshot of the Samsung UK listing that shows the Galaxy S5 Mini with the moniker Galaxy S5 Dx. The handset shown in the listing has a model number SM-G800A, which is the alleged model number of the Galaxy S5 Mini, a mid-range offering.
In comparison with the Galaxy S4 Mini, the Galaxy S5 Mini is said to come with a 4.5-inch HD display, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a camera set comprising of 8MP and 2MP rear and front camera units and a 2,100 mAh battery to power the phone.
As of now, the miniature variant of the Galaxy S5 will run on Android 4.4 KitKat layered with the redesigned TouchWiz UI that was seen on its bigger brother. Besides these aspects, the leaked image also makes it clear that there is no heart rate sensor on the handset and that it will arrive in a variety of colors such as white, gray, blue, black, orange and yellow.
Right now, other than these details we do not have any information pertaining to the Galaxy S5 Mini aka the Galaxy S5 Dx. And, we will have to wait until the vendor officially announce the phone, which is expected to happen soon.
