Micromax Canvas Gold A300 with 5.5-inch display, 2GHz octa-core processor, 16MP camera launching soon in India

Update (10:07PM IST): After searching more about Micromax A300, we came across some live images of the smartphone leaked by DesiGadgets. According to them, the smartphone will be called as the Micromax Canvas Gold. The site notes that Micromax would price the Canvas Gold at Rs. 24,000, and its MOP will be around Rs. 21,000.

Earlier: Micromax launched the Canvas 4 last year. The smartphone was succeeded by Canvas Knight earlier this year in March. Now, Micromax is all set to introduce a new flagship Android smartphone in the Indian market. Carrying the model number A300, the smartphone is reported to come with a 5.5-inch display. The Micromax A300 is found listed on Zauba.

Alleged Micromax A300

According to Zauba, which tracks country's import and export, Micromax has shipped 1,360 units of Micromax A300 in India by June 3rd. The listing reveals the price as Rs. 12,223, so we can expect the smartphone to hit the market for around Rs. 15,000.

Serial Micromax leaker @MMXNewscaster has leaked a press image of Micromax A300 along with its specifications. The press image reveals that the smartphone will come in two colours White Gold and Black Gold. According to the leakster, the Micromax A300 will come with a 5.5-inch Full HD display, 2GHz octa-core processor, 2GB RAM and Android 4.4 KitKat.

The smartphone will also come with an 16MP rear camera with LED flash, 8MP front facing camera and 32GB internal storage with metal body and 6.9mm thickness. MMXNewcaster reports that Micromax will launch the A300 in India on Monday at an event, where the company will also introduce its first phone running on Windows Phone 8.1.

The reported specifications of Micromax A300 is similar to the Canvas Knight but with larger display size and latest iteration of Android. Monday is not too far and we will know more about the smartphone then. Till then, stay tuned.
