Back at the Google I/O, the search engine giant introduced the Android L and its new Material Design UI that is believed to penetrate to most of the services and applications. For this, we obviously will have to wait until the Android L is released commercially this fall. Now, we have a report that hints that the Google Play Store will be getting an update to feature a Material Design.

Those at Android Police have managed to grab the screenshots of an updated version of the Play Store that shows the new look of the service with more white space and large header images. This could perhaps make it easier for users to know about the content that they are looking at.

Though the screenshots have been leaked now, we cannot conclude that these are the final versions of the app marketplace as there are chances for Google to still work on the service.

Moreover, Google has not officially announced the refreshed Play Store or even let out a word regarding the update’s roll out schedule. As the Android L will be arriving this fall, we can expect the Google Play Store to possibly get updated more or less at the same time as it is a major part of the platform.
