We have been hearing plethora of rumors about the Samsung Galaxy F aka Galaxy S5 Prime for many months and now it appears like the high-end device will be launched next month with the moniker Samsung Galaxy Alpha. Well, the device is speculated to arrive with a metal casing instead of the plastic one as in the Galaxy S5.
According to information based on industry sources, entrusted publication Korea Herald claims Samsung will be coming up with a premium metal built device to compete with the larger iPhone models that are slated to be launched in September. The device will be called Galaxy Alpha that has been leaked countless times as Galaxy F.
The Galaxy Alpha is reported to feature a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED display rather than 5.1-inch display and be powered by Exynos 5 Octa processor. The device is speculated to be just 6 mm thick that is pretty much thinner than the Galaxy S5 measuring 8.1 mm.
As per a report by ETNews, the Galaxy Alpha could be launched in August, well ahead of the IFA tech show in Berlin. It makes sense for Samsung to announce the device in August and the Galaxy Note 4 with a 5.7-inch display in September to compete with the 4.7-inch iPhone and 5.5-inch iPhone models coming later this year.
The authenticity of this report still remains unconfirmed and we need to wait to see if this device can raise eyebrows in the smartphone arena. Anyways, before the launch we expect the Galaxy Alpha to get confirmed and more details regarding the same to pour in. We suggest our readers to take this news with a huge pinch of salt.
