Last month we came across a new information which suggested that Google and HTC have teamed up to announce the launch of the next Nexus tablet this year codenamed HTC Volantis. Now, in a promotional image meant to show off the Android L platform that will arrive this fall, Google seems to have used the unannounced HTC Nexus 9 render.
As you can see in the image above, presence of the front-facing speakers reminiscent to the BoomSound of HTC that was spotted in the latest HTC Nexus 9 leak suggests rules out the possibility for the device to be the Nexus 7 (2013) model. The other evidence to prove that this is not the Asus made tablet is the front camera module that is centered on the left side of the tablet. The Nexus 7 (2013) boasts a front-facer, but it is positioned towards the right.
Moreover, the tablet on the render is featured in landscape while the Nexus 5 is in portrait. From this, the proportions of the Nexus 5 and the tablet make it clear that the tablet is taller and it does not match up to the Nexus 7’s dimensions.
May be, Google is all planning to reveal a little of what we can expect from the firm this fall by showing off the Nexus 9 render running the Android L platform.
Adding to the growing speculations related to the Nexus lineup, the Nexus 5 smartphone which is already available in black and white colours is now tipped to arrive in new color. Already, the Nexus 5 in red got leaked and was officially announced earlier this year in February.
And now, a yellow variant of the handset is expected to launch soon along with a new Google Play Edition smartphone, dubbed the Samsung Galaxy S5 Google Play Edition.
