LG G Pad 10.1, the largest tablet
in the company’s G Pad tablet lineup has gone global. Announced in May, the
Android based tablets arrived with the much acclaimed software features from
the firm’s smartphone lineup. Soon after launching, the G Pad 7.0 was made
available in Europe , while the 8-inch and 10.1-inch models were claimed to arrive in the coming weeks.
Today, the South Korean tech firm has
announced that it will start the global roll-out of the LG G Pad 10.1 this
month. While the US market
will receive the tablet initially, the other markets such as Europe, Asia and Latin America will get the tablet later this month. However,
the pricing details of the tablet remain unknown and it will be revealed when
the device enters sale in each region.
Talking about the specs, the LG G
Pad 10.1 is given a large 10.1-inch IPS LCD display that packs a resolution of
1280 x 800 pixels that translates to a low pixel density of 149 pixels per inch. Powering
the device is a quad-core 1.2GHz processor that is coupled with 1GB of RAM.
It bundles 16GB of on-board storage capacity that can be extended externally by
another 64GB via a micro SD card.
To meet the photography
requirements of the users, the G Pad 10.1 features a 5MP primary camera that
is accompanied by a 1.3MP front-facer. Furthermore, the tablet runs on Android
4.4.2 KitKat platform and is powered by an 8,000 mAh battery along with
connectivity aspects such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Infrared port.
The LG G Pad 10.1 features the
well renowned KnockCode feature that allows users to power on and unlock the
device through a series of taps. Also, it has the Smart Keyboard feature that
reduces the typos by learning the users' typing habits and the Dual Window mode
that splits the screen for enhanced multi-tasking.
