LG has officially announced the
launch of the mini version of the current flagship device LG G3 earlier today. As gossiped,
the handset comes in two monikers namely LG G3 Beat and LG G3 s for the Asian
and European regions respectively. The handset features a sophisticated Floating Arc
metallic design and comes in a slew of color options which include Metallic Black, Silk White and Shine Gold.
LG has announced that the global debut of the device will commence of July 18th starting with the domestic market in South Korea followed by the European and CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) countries. Prices and details of availability will be announced locally at the time of launch.
In terms of technical
specifications, the miniature variant arrives with downgraded specs as compared
to the flagship G3 and it features a 5-inch HD IPS display with a resolution of
1280 x 720 pixels and a screen-to-body ratio of 74.1%. Powering the device from
within is a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor coupled with 1GB
of RAM and runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system.
Also on-board are 8GB of internal
storage capacity along with microSD card for expandable storage support. For
imaging, the LG G3 Beat features an 8MP rear camera that has Laser Auto Focus and LED flash and a 1.3MP front facing snapper. The smartphone is 10.3mm thick and weights 134 grams.
The G3 Beat draws its energy from a 2,540 mAh battery that can deliver a decent backup for the mid-ranger. Besides these aspects, the handset
arrives with connectivity traits such as 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, USB 2.0 and A-GPS.
