Xiaomi Mi3 sold out in less than 40 minutes in India on Flipkart, to go on sale again on July 29th
Xiaomi entered India on July 15th by launching its last year's flagship Android smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi3. The smartphone went on sale in the country on July 22nd at 12PM and was sold out in just 38 minutes and 40 seconds. According to Xiaomi, more than 100,000 have registered on Flipkart to buy the Mi3 in the country. Though the company has not revealed the exact units sold in India, it is said to be around 10,000-20,000 units.
Due to traffic spikes majority of the users were unable to buy the Mi3 and even the Fipkart site crashed many times. Beside being a new brand in the country, the demand of Mi3 in India is way too much, which is due to super aggressive pricing by the Chinese vendor. If Flipkart would have made a perfect plan for the sale on July 22nd, then the phone might have sold out in less than 15 minutes.
Flipkart has now announced that the next sale of Mi3 will be on July 29th. Those who have already registered for the Mi3 before 21st July are automatically eligible for the next sale, while those who haven't registered yet can register now on Flipkart to purchase the Mi3 before 28th July mid-night. It should be noted that the next sale will also have limited stocks available.
Talking about the specifications, Xiaomi Mi3 comes with a 5.0-inch Full HD IPS display with 441 ppi pixel density, 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974AB) processor, Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB RAM and MIUI V5 based on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The smartphone is 8.1mm thick and weights grams.
Other specifications include an 13MP rear camera with LED flash, 2MP front facing camera, 16GB fixed internal storage and 3,050 mAh battery. Connectivity series include 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, WiFi-Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and A-GPS. It has to be noted that Xiaomi phones in China does not comes with support for Google apps, but Xiaomi has included them in the Indian models.
