After getting leaked online couple of weeks back, Samsung earlier this week officially took the wraps off the selfie focused Galaxy Grand series smartphone. Dubbed as Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime, the smartphone has been officially launched in the Indian market. The Galaxy Grand Prime comes in grey and white colours and is priced at Rs. 15,499.
Talking about the specifications, Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime comes with an 5MP front-facer onboard that is a significant improvement as compared to the 2MP one in the previous generation Grand devices.
Despite the front camera, the Galaxy Grand Prime also boasts an 8MP primary camera with LED flash and support for Full HD 1080p video recording. Under the hood, the device is claimed to be powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM and runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The device measures 144 x 72 x 8.6mm, weights 156 grams and has 2,600 mAh battery capacity.
The phone has a 5-inch display with a qHD screen resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. Like the other handsets in the Grand lineup, the Grand Prime is also a dual SIM offering packed with connectivity features such as 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS and Bluetooth 4.0. It is bundled with 8GB of internal storage capacity that can be expanded using a microSD card.
