LG has announced that its second generation Android Wear based smartwatch dubbed LG G Watch R will debut retailing in the European markets from early November. The G Watch R will be released initially in France, Spain, Italy and UK, followed by the other markets in Europe, Asia, North America and CIS region.
Furthermore, LG has claimed that in select countries, the LG G Watch R would be available for grabs via the Google Play Store similar to the Samsung Gear Live and LG G Watch.
Going by the specifications, the G Watch R arrives with a 1.3-inch circular Plastic OLED display with a resolution of 320x320 pixels. Also, the device arrives with a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor teamed up with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage space. The other aspects of the Android Wear based smartwatch include a 410 mAh battery and IP67 certificate to make it water and dust resistant.
The greatest rival of the LG G Watch R will be the Motorola Moto 360 as they both are similar in terms of specifications and shape. While LG is yet to announce the pricing of the LG G Watch R, it is expected to cost €299 in Europe and $299 in the US.
