Asus rolling out major update for ZenWatch 3 and security fixes for ZenWatch 2

Asus has started rolling out a major update for its latest Android Wear powered smartwatch, the Asus ZenWatch 3. Asus is also rolling out the December security update for the Asus ZenWatch 2.

The ZenWatch 3 was originally announced last year in August, and back in December 2016 Asus launched the ZenWatch 3 in the Indian market starting at Rs. 17,599. The ZenWatch 3 is now available in India via e-retailer Flipkart.

Google soon to launch two Android Wear smartwatches codenamed Angelfish and Swordfish

Google announced the Android Wear platform two years back in March with first smartwatches running on that platform was LG's G Watch and Motorola's Moto 360. Following this, many OEMs have been manufacturing these watches and have achieved success regarding their sales and the experience they offer to their consumers.

But we have often wondered, just like we have Google's Nexus smartphones, why don't we have Nexus smartwatch. Google may have heard all these questions after all. After two years of success, it's about time, Google is reportedly building its own two Android Wear devices – which are probably Nexus branded, reports Android Police (referred as AP further).

AP is rating this rumor of Google building Nexus smartwatches a confidence level of 9 out of 10. According to AP, these two alleged smartwatches will be called Angelfish and Swordfish. Angelfish will be the larger one with LTE connectivity, GPS and heart rate sensor while the Swordfish will be smaller and won't sport the added connectivity and will be more pocket friendly.

The site has also released the first recreated images of the upcoming devices. AP notes that Google is currently in process of prototyping these smartwatches and it is yet unknown when they're going to be released. Also, the devices might end up looking completely different from what the below images show. It is also possible that either of them could be cancelled or delayed. 

Android Wear next major update to bring interactive watch faces and watch-to-watch communication

As per the industry sources, Google is planning something big for the Android Wear platform. Recently, the version 5.1.1 of the wearable OS was rolled out by Google with new gesture features and advanced functionality. Now, Google seems to be prepping to add several improved features to the upcoming iteration of the Android Wear platform. According to Phandroid, Google will be adding couple of new and cool features to Android Wear.

One of the first and best looking smartwatch running Android Wear is the Motorola's Moto 360. Motorola launched the Moto 360 in the country back in October 2014 for Rs. 17,999. Now, Motorola had launched the metal band variant of the Moto 360 smartwatch in the Indian market. The Stainless Steel variant of Moto 360 comes in Black and Silver color options and is priced at Rs. 19,999.

Sony officially launches SmartWatch 3 and SmartBand Talk in India for Rs. 19,990 and Rs. 12,990

Sony has officially announced the launch of its first smartwatch running on Google's Android Wear platform in the Indian market. Dubbed as Sony SmartWatch 3, the smartwatch was originally introduced way back in September at IFA 2014 along with SmartBand Talk, that is the successor of original SmartBand. 

Android Wear Lollipop updates rolls out with custom watch faces, undo card swipe and more

Google announced Android 5.0 Lollipop earlier this year with official roll-out begin last month. Now, Google has started rolling out a massive update for Android Wear platform, Android Wear Lollipop update. The Android 5.0 update will bring several new features to the platform. Earlier this year, when Google launched the Android Wear platform for wearable devices, it said that the custom watch face API is also a part of this update.

Flipkart app for Android Wear smartwatches officially launched

The Indian e-commerce giant Flipkart has launched an application exclusive to the Android Wear platform. The Wishlist app is available on the smartwatches running on the Android Wear platform and the retailer becomes the first in the country to launch an Android Wear application.

LG G Watch R global rollout plans announced, to be available starting from November

LG has announced that its second generation Android Wear based smartwatch dubbed LG G Watch R will debut retailing in the European markets from early November. The G Watch R will be released initially in France, Spain, Italy and UK, followed by the other markets in Europe, Asia, North America and CIS region.
