Alcatel OneTouch came up with an interesting announcement prior to the CES 2015 tech show by announcing the latest PIXI 3 smartphone-series and its first smartwatch. According to Alcatel OneTouch, the PIXI 3 smartphone-series are OS-agnostic, meaning they support a choice of operating systems including Android, Windows Phone and Firefox. Eventually, the PIXI 3 smartphones are the first devices to support such a feature.
Notably, the Alcatel OneTouch Pixi 3 lineup of smartphones will arrive in varying sizes from 3.5-inches to 5-inches. Also, they will support 3G and 4G LTE connectivity for the 4-inch, 4.5-inch and 5-inch models, whereas the 3.5-inch variant will be a 3G only device. These OS-agnostic smartphones will support easy customization aspects and will be preinstalled with popular applications.
Talking of the Alcatel OneTouch Watch, the smartwatch based on Android Wear (to be confirmed at CES 2015) carries an elegant circular design and a competitive price tag. This will definitely create a new segment in the smartwatch market for the affordable offerings. The Alcatel OneTouch Watch looks much like a traditional watch and will come with at least four strap options.
The Watch is equipped with the necessary sensors and it can be used in conjunction with Android smartphones letting users to receive notifications, control music, take photos and other activities.
It is believed that the vendor will be showcasing these devices at the CES 2015 tech show in the coming days and their specifications and other details will come to light then.
