Asus Zenfone C with Intel Atom processor launched in India for Rs. 5,999

Asus has silently announced the launch of a new budget Android smartphone in the Indian market on Wednesday. Dubbed as Asus Zenfone C, the smartphone was originally introduced last month in Malaysia. The Zenfone C will be replacing the out-of-stock Asus Zenfone 4 A450CG, which comes with similar specifications.

Asus has silently announced the launch of a new budget Android smartphone in the Indian market on Wednesday. Dubbed as Asus Zenfone C, the smartphone was originally introduced last month in Malaysia. The Zenfone C will be replacing the out-of-stock Asus Zenfone 4 A450CG, which comes with similar specifications.

Similar to other Asus smartphones, the newly launched Zenfone C is also exclusively available from e-retailer Flipkart and will be available at Asus stores in the country starting February 18th. The smartphone comes in black colour option and is priced at Rs. 5,999.

Specifications-wise, Asus Zenfone C comes with a 4.5-inch FWVGA IPS display with anti-fingerprint coating, 1.2GHz dual-core Intel Atom Z2520 processor, PowerVR SGX544 GPU, 1GB RAM and Android 4.4 KitKat with Zen UI on top. The smartphone measures 136.5x67x10.9mm and weights 149 grams.

Other specifications include an 5MP rear camera with LED flash, 0.3MP (VGA) front facing camera, 8GB internal storage with expandable up to 64GB using microSD card and 2,100 mAh battery. Connectivity series include 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.
