Sony Xperia E4 and Xperia E4 Dual officially announced ahead of MWC
Ahead of MWC, Sony has officially announced its first smartphone of 2015. The new Xperia is not a high-end one, rather its an affordable smartphone which is targeted to mass market. Dubbed as Sony Xperia E4 and Xperia E4 Dual, the smartphone was leaked in detail early last month. According to Sony, the Xperia E4 and Xperia E4 Dual comes in black and white colours and will go on sale later this month.
There is no word on pricing details of Xperia E4. Also, Sony has not revealed any details regarding which countries will get the Xperia E4 and by when. Sony is expected to showcase the Xperia E4 and it dual SIM partner at the upcoming MWC 2015.
When it comes to specifications, Sony Xperia E4 comes with a 5-inch qHD IPS display with resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor, Mali-400MP2 GPU, 1GB of RAM and Android 4.4.4 KitKat (No LOLLIPOP). The Xperia E4 measures 137 x 74.6 x 10.5 mm and weights 144 grams.
Other specifications include a 5MP rear camera with LED flash, 2MP front facing camera, 8GB internal storage with expandable using microSD card and 2,300 mAh battery with Battery STAMINA mode. Sony claims that with Battery STAMINA Mode on, the Xperia E4 can guaranteed last for 2 days.
Connectivity series features 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. The Xperia E4 Dual, as the name suggest comes with Dual SIM support, rest of the specifications are similar to the single SIM variant. Sony has included a new dual SIM technology that let users keep both SIMs active and set custom ringtones.
