LAVA along with Iris X1 Mini and Iris X1 Grand has also announced the launch of a new Iris smartphone in the Indian market recently. Dubbed as LAVA Iris X8, the smartphone is a direct competitor of Micromax-backed YU Televentures' Yureka smartphone. The Iris X8 comes in black and white colours and is priced at Rs. 8,999.
According to LAVA, the Irix X8 is now available across all national retail stores and multi-brand outlets and online exclusively on Flipkart. The Iris X8 also comes with an intelligent flip cover that allows to access various services without switching on the home screen.
As far as specifications are concerned, LAVA Iris X8 comes with a 5-inch HD IPS display with Asahi Dragontrail glass protection, 1.4GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6582M processor, 2GB RAM and Android 4.4.2 KitKat with promised Android 5.0 Lollipop update in near-future. The smartphone measures 143.4 x 70.9 x 8.6mm and weights 160g.
Other specifications include a 8MP rear camera with dual LED flash, a 3MP front facing camera, 16GB internal storage with expandable up to 32GB using microSD card and 2,500 mAh battery. Connectivity series include 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.
