Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet with 10.1-inch 2K display, Snapdragon 810 SoC officially announced

It's not only Samsung and HTC who came up with new devices at MWC, Sony has also introduced a new Xperia tablet at the Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona. The new tablet is the successor of already available Xperia Z2 Tablet and is dubbed as Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet, indicating that a new Xperia series is on its way.

According to Sony, the Xperia Z4 Tablet is one of the lightest and slimmest tablet in the market. The Xperia Z4 Tablet comes in black and white colours and will be available globally starting June 2015 in WiFi and WiFi + LTE variants. There is no word on pricing details yet.

On the specifications front, Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet packs in high-end specifications, which include: 10.1-inch IPS 2K display with screen resolution of  2560 x 1600 pixels, 2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset with 64-bit octa-core processor (2GHz quad-core Cortex-A57 + 1.6GHz quad-core Cortex-A53), Adreno 430 GPU, 3GB RAM and Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The tablet measures 167 x 254 x 6.1 mm and weighs 389 grams for the WiFi model and 393 grams for the LTE model. Sony says that the display of Xperia Z4 Tablet is 40% brighter than the Xperia Z2 Tablet. Not only that, Sony has also trimmed down the bezels on the Xperia Z4 Tablet. The Xperia Z4 Tablet also has IP65 / IP68 certification for dust and water resistance. 

Other specifications include a 8.1MP Exmor RS rear camera, a 5.1MP wide-angle front facing camera, 32GB internal storage with microSD card support and 6,000 mAh battery. Connectivity series include Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, NFC and 4G LTE support.

Lastly, the tablet includes two front-facing stereo speakers, surround sound audio effect, digital noise canceling with adaptive adjustments when plugging in headphones and support for Hi-Res audio playback.
