As promised, OnePlus has started rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat based OxygenOS 4.0 update for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T smartphones. OnePlus committed of releasing the Nougat update for both OnePlus 3 and 3T before year end back in November. The company started the rollout of the same hours before New Year's Eve.
The announcement was made via couple of tweets by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei on December 31st. The update is rolling out gradually, so do not expect a new software update notification right away.

The OxygenOS 4.0 update weights at 919MB and brings series of changes:
- Upgraded to Android 7.0 Nougat
- New Notifications Design
- New Settings Menu Design
- Multi-Window View
- Notification Direct Reply
- Custom DPI Support
- Added Status Bar Icon Options
- Added Quick Launch For 3rd Party Applications
- Improved Shelf Customization
If you are eager to officially update your OnePlus 3 or 3T to Nougat then follow the below steps:
- Download any VPN app from Play Store (or https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=free.vpn.unblock.proxy.vpnpro&hl=en).
- Select Canada as the server.
- After getting connected, go to Settings > System Updates and check for new software update.
- The update should now show up.
- Before you start downloading the update, disconnect the VPN connection.
- Now go back to System Updates and download the update.
