Samsung has launched a new Android smartphone in the Indian market recently. Dubbed as Samsung Galaxy J1 4G, the smartphone comes with entry-level specifications and is a part of Galaxy J series of smartphones.

Listed on Samsung India website, the Galaxy J1 4G comes in three color variants - White, Gold and Black. Samsung has listed the Galaxy J1 4G for Rs. 6,890. The device is said to be available via offline and online retailers in the coming days.

At this price, Samsung is competing directly with Xiaomi's Redmi 3S which is priced at Rs. 6,999 and comes with much better specifications.




Talking of specifications, Samsung Galaxy J1 4G comes with a 4.5-inch WVGA Super AMOLED display with 800 x 480p resolution, 1.3GHz quad-core Spreadrum SC7727SE processor with Mali 400 GPU1GB RAM and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with Samsung's TouchWiz UI on top.

The Galaxy J1 4G comes with dual-SIM support with dual standby feature, measures 132.6 x 69.3 x 8.9 mm and weighs 131 grams.

Other specifications include a 5MP rear camera with LED flash, f/2.2 aperture and HD video support, a 2MP front facing camera with f/2.2 aperture and beauty mode, 8GB internal storage (4.1GB available) with expandable upto 128GB using microSD card and 2050mAh removable battery.

Connectivity series include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n 2.4GHz, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi Direct, GPS, GLONASS, USB 2.0 port and 3.5mm headphone jack. Additional features include S Bike Mode, S Power Planning and Ultra Data Saving mode (upto 50% data saving).
