Sony Xperia C3 with 5.5-inch display, 5MP front facing camera with LED flash officially launched in India for Rs. 23,990

Sony has officially announced the launch of "the world's best selfie smartphone," the Xperia C3 in the Indian market. The smartphone was originally announced last month and comes in slew of colours including Black, White and Mint. Sony has priced the Xperia C3 in India at Rs. 23,990 and will go on sale in the country starting September 1st.

As expected, Sony has officially took the wraps off the Xperia C3 earlier today. Sony is calling the Xperia C3 as "the world's best selfie smartphone," as it comes with 5MP front facing camera with LED flash and slew of software features. The Xperia C3 comes in dual-SIM variant too and will be available in black, white and mint (green) colours starting August 2014 in China first followed by other countries. No word on pricing details yet.

These days, smartphones pack in high-end cameras with impressive software features to attract the photography enthusiasts. But, the front facing camera on most of the high-end phones average out on 2MP. However, the Chinese makers have managed to incorporate powerful front-facers on their smartphones giving importance to selfies. Now, it appears like tier-2 smartphone vendor based out in Japan, Sony is all set to introduce a selfie oriented smartphone.
