Over a month ago, a new HTC mid-range handset came in news with Evleaks leaking the first press render of the device last week. Dubbed as HTC Zara, it is the company's upcoming smartphone with mid-end specifications. The company is also reported to launch the mini version of HTC Zara.
To remind you all, HTC Desire 601 is reported to come with an 4.5-inch qHD display, 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB RAM, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with HTC's Sense 5.5 UI, 8GB internal storage along with microSD card support, 8MP rear camera and 2100mAh battery.
On the other hand, HTC Zara Mini will feature 4.3-inch TFT WVGA display, 1GHz Dual-Core processor, 512MB RAM, 8GB internal storage with 64GB microSD card expansion, 5MP rear camera along with 1.3MP front facing camera and Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
HTC VP of Product Design Thomas Chien & R&D director Wu Chien Hun arrested
In related, HTC Vice President of Product Design Thomas Chien, R&D Director Wu Chien Hung and Design team Senior Manager Justin Huang were arrested in Taipei under suspicion of fraudulent expense claims, as well as stealing trade secrets ahead of leaving the company to run a new mobile design firm in both Taiwan and mainland China.
According to Engadget, Thomas Chien was apparently caught secretly downloading the upcoming Sense 6.0 UI design files and sharing them to external contacts via e-mail.
HTC has not yet revealed any information regarding this matter, but when Engadget contacted HTC, they gave the following statement,
"The matter is under investigation by relevant authorities. We therefore refrain from further comments."
