The rumoured and leaked Samsung Galaxy Gear is back in news. The upcoming advance smartwatch from Samsung is confirmed for September 4th launch along with next Galaxy Note series phablet, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. The Galaxy Gear is company's first smartwatch and a mark towards Samsung's entry in smartwatch industry.

Samsung's own executive vice president, Lee Young-hee has confirmed the launch of Galaxy Gear on 4th September in an interview given to Korean Times. She also revealed that the smartwatch will use non-flexible display, rather than flexible display as reported earlier.

"We will be introducing a new wearable concept device called Galaxy Gear at our own event in Berlin on Sept. 4," said Lee Young-hee, Executive Vice President of Samsung's Mobile Business in an Korean Times interview.

Lee did not share any other details about Galaxy Gear, but she hinted that Samsung is working on advanced smartwatches, which might feature flexible display.

According to Sammobile, Galaxy Gear will be shipped from October in four colour options, White, Black, Orange and Grey. Later on, most probably after one week, Samsung might also start the shipping of White Gold Galaxy Gear, which will be exclusive to specific regions and carries.

The report also added that the company will be putting catchy names all these four/five colours, like how they have named their smartphone colours. They also added that the dates might shift back or forth a week or two depending on Samsung's plan and we might also see more colour options in coming months.

Coming to the leaked Samsung Gear Manager screenshots, serial leaker Evleaks have leaked the first screenshots of Samsung Gear Manager app for smartphones, confirming the news that the watch will indeed be managed using Gear Manager.

The screenshots not only confirms the app, but also confirms that Galaxy Gear will have NFC support along with Bluetooth connectivity. The application will also help users to manage the smartwatch easily using their smartphones, like changing clocks, adding or editing applications and managing the applications.

Samsung Gear Manager will also help to search the smartwatch in case it goes missing. The rumoured specifications of Galaxy Gear are – 2.5-inch 320x320p resolution display, 1.5GHz dual-core Exynos 4412 processor, 1GB RAM, Android Jelly Bean and 6GB or 8GB internal storage.

Other specifications include 4MP front camera, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, NFC support and speakers in the strap with Accelerometer sensor. The smartwatch is also rumoured to offer only 10 hours of battery life. There will also be a microphone, a USB port and touch menu buttons on Galaxy Gear.
