Sony had launched the Xperia Z tablet last year which was the first ever 10-inch waterproof tablet. The tablet is all geared up to get itself a successor that will be unveiled at the MWC 2014 as Xperia Z2 Tablet and has been leaked before the event. It will come with the same 10.1-inch Full HD display that has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. Barring that, it will get an upgrade in almost every department.

Sony Xperia Z Tablet

Under the hood will be a 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor which is a decent upgrade from the Snapdragon S4 Pro which powered it last year. The tablet will run on Android 4.4 KitKat and will be upgraded in the future as well. There will be a 3GB RAM for seamless multitasking to bring it at par with the iPad Air.

It will become slimmer in profile and its thickness will stand at 6.4 mm which is less from the 6.9 mm of the Xperia Z Tablet. The tablet like its predecessor will be dust and water-resistant. The display might just feature Sony's Triluminous technology. At the back will be an 8MP snapper in all likelihood which will be joined in by a 2MP front camera. The internal storage will stand at 16GB which will be available for expansion via a microSD card by another 32GB/64GB and the battery will be of 6,000 mAh.

The tablet will be showcased at the MWC 2014 which begins in Barcelona next week. Sony has been turning around events drastically for itself in the smartphone arena but it is still struggling to become a force to reckon with in the tablet arena. The Xperia Z Tablet made a decent attempt at giving it a strong footing but the Z2 Tablet is expected to give the company a better standing.
