Motorola to launch a 6.3-inch phablet named Xplay in Q3 2014

When Motorola launched the Moto X last year, it was followed up by the start of rumours regarding the launch of phablet from Motorola with a 6.3-inch screen size with the moniker Xplay. The rumours regarding the same soon died down and they have cropped up once more stating the fact that phablet from the American giant will be launched in the third quarter of 2014.

Lenovo is believed to be not interfering with the launch schedule of Motorola for the years 2014 and 2015 and we pretty much like that fact. The Xplay is meant to be a rival to the big screen Xperia Z Ultra which indicates towards the fact that it will feature top of the line specs. Nothing else is known about the device barring its screen size and launch timeline.

Motorola is turning around its fortunes by launching devices that cater to a wide strata of the market. Moto X and Moto G are testimonials of the same and the upcoming Moto 360 smartwatch is expected to play host to the same fate as well. The 6-inch phablet arena still does not have much competition and majority of the phablets on sale still have a screen size below that.

Let us wait and see what revolution Motorola brings with the launch of the Moto Xplay.
