Following the launch of Android 5.0 Lollipop, Motorola that teamed up with Google for the Nexus 6 confirmed its plans of rolling out the update. A slew of its smartphones including Moto E, Moto G (LTE, 2013 and 2014), Moto X (2013 and 2014), Droid Maxx, Droid Ultra and Droid Mini will be receiving the Android 5.0 Lollipop update.

Motorola launched the Moto X (2nd gen) and Moto G (2nd gen) in the country last month with Moto G (2nd gen) went on sale in early-September and Moto X (2nd gen) went on sale in the country couple of weeks after. With the launch of new Moto G, Motorola stopped selling the original Moto G in India. Now, the original Moto G is back in stock on Flipkart and at reduced price. The company has also reduced the price of original Moto X in India.

Motorola India has started sending out press invites to the Indian tech press media for attending an event on September 5th. This invite comes days after Motorola revealed its Chicago event date which is September 4th, where the company is expected to unveil the Moto X+1 and the Moto G2 smartphones, along with the Moto 360 smartwatch.

Xiaomi effect has forced Motorola to lower down the price of Moto G smartphone in the Indian market, but for a limited time. Earlier this week, on Thursday, Flipkart announced that they are offering Rs. 2,000 off on both the 8GB and 16GB versions of Moto G. The 8GB Moto G is currently out of stock but the 16GB Moto G is still available from Flipkart at reduced price of Rs. 11,999.

As promised, Motorola has finally started rolling out the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for the dual-SIM Moto G in India starting today. The update is rolling out via over-the-air and brings KitKat goodies along with some improvements. The same update was first live in Malaysia and Taiwan last week. Single SIM Moto G (US variant to be specific) got the KitKat update last year in December, followed by Europe in January 2014.

Motorola launched the dual-SIM Moto G in India yesterday, and starting today the smartphone is receiving the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update. Motorola has officially started seeding the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update to the dual-SIM version of Moto G in Malaysia and Taiwan. The update is available over-the-air. Since, KitKat is now available for dual-SIM Moto G, Indian consumers shouldn't have to wait much longer.

Update: Moto G got out of stock within an hour on Flipkart after going on sale at 12:01 AM today. The 16GB variant was out of stock within 15 minutes of going on sale, while the 8GB version lasted for one hour.
And after 12 hours (12 noon today), Flipkart again started taking orders of Moto G in India, where the 16GB version was out of stock in less than 15 minutes of going on sale. However, the 8GB Moto G is still available for purchase from Flipkart. You can grab one for yourself by clicking here.

Last week Motorola confirmed that they will be announcing the much-awaited Moto G in India on February 5th. And today, India's leading e-commerce website Flipkart has officially confirmed that the smartphone will be available for purchase starting February 5th, immediately after the launch. Flipkart has a separate dedicated Moto G page to keep track of the device.

After so many reports, Motorola has finally revealed that Moto G launch details for India will be announced on February 5th, 2014. We are not sure if Motorola will actually launch the phone on February 5th or will just announce the launch details. Moto G was originally announced back in November where the company announced that they will be bringing the Moto G in India in early-January 2014, but sadly it didn't happen.
