Samsung Galaxy S5 to launch in India for Rs. 51,500
Samsung is all set to launch the Galaxy S5 in India tomorrow, and now Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom is reporting that the Galaxy S5 will land in India with a price tag of Rs. 51,500. Samsung is going to announce its latest flagship device in India tomorrow at an event in New Delhi, where the company will be revealing its pricing and other availability details.
According to Mahesh Telecom, the Galaxy S5 will go on pre-order across India starting March 28th. Interested buyers have to pay Rs. 1,500 as the pre-booking price. The pre-orders will start from March 28th and will be live till April 10th. The phone will be shipped from April 11th on-wards.
Samsung will be offering 15% Cash Back on Citibank Credit Cards, which translates to the fact that Citibank customers could get the device for as low as Rs. 43,700. The company will also offer the device in EMI's of 6/12/18 months (condition apply).
It is still unclear that which variant of the Galaxy S5 will land in India, the unannounced Exynos 5 or the Snapdragon 801 variant.
Samsung Galaxy S5 was originally announced last month at MWC 2014, and comes with a 5.1-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display, 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB RAM and Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Samsung's TouchWiz user-interface on top.
The smartphone also comes with a 16MP rear camera with LED flash, 2.1MP front facing camera, 16GB / 32GB internal storage with up to 64GB supported microSD card slot and 2,800 mAh battery. Connectivity series include fifth generation Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, 2X2 MIMO, Bluetooth v4.0 BLE / ANT+, USB 3.0 (covered), NFC and IR Remote.
In addition to all those specs, the Galaxy S5 is IP67 dust and water resistant. The smartphone also comes with Ultra Power Saving Mode, Quick Connect, Download Booster, Private mode and Kids mode.
