Last year, Samsung released the Galaxy S4 Zoom, which is a smartphone-camera hybrid. The Korean giant is expected to launch the successor of the same soon. Earlier this week, an image of unannounced camera-cum-smartphone from Samsung hit the interweb, which is supposed to be of the back of the Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom. The source who leaked the image reveals that the Galaxy S5 Zoom will be called the Galaxy K Zoom.
In related to the news, SamMobile, expert in leaking Samsung related stuffs, has leaked the confirmed specifications of the S5 Zoom, along with AnTuTu benchmark score.
Talking about the image first, the successor of S4 Zoom will feature a faux leather back, similar to what we can see on the Note 3 and the Grand 2. The back will be surrounded by a huge camera module, which won't protrude as much as the Galaxy S4 Zoom and will also feature a Xenon flash.
Coming to the leaked specifications, according to SamMobile's report, the Galaxy S5 Zoom (or say the K Zoom, whatever it will be named in final) will hold the model number SM-C115 and will feature a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display, 6-core Samsung Exynos 5260 Hexa-Core processor (two 1.7GHz Cortex-A15 cores and four 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 cores), Mali-T624 GPU and 2GB RAM.
The camera-smartphone hybrid will run on Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Samsung's TouchWiz user-interface on top and will feature a 20.2MP rear camera with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), Xenon flash and 10x optical zoom along with a 2.1MP front snapper and microSD card slot.
Connectivity series include WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, WiFi Direct, DLNA, WiFi Hotspot, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 LE / ANT+, USB 2.0 and an IR blaster. The SM-C115 scored a whooping 33,252 points in AnTuTu benchmark, making itself faster than the Galaxy S4 and the HTC One (M7).
That's all we have on the Galaxy S5 Zoom for the time being and we can surely expect more information to come in as the launch date nears.
