At the Mobile World Congress2014, Sony unleashed its current flagship smartphone – Xperia Z2. Since the
launch of this phone, the firm has been making rounds in rumors regarding its
mini variant, the Xperia Z2 Compact. But, latest media reports suggest that the
handset will be launched in the native market, Japan with the moniker Xperia A2.
The Xperia A2 has been
spotted in a NTT DoCoMo brochure. The smartphone bears the
codename Altair, and is speculated to the miniature
variant of the Xperia Z2 and appears to arrive in four color options which include Grey Black, White, Lavender and Orange .
The report also reveals a partial
spec sheet of the alleged Xperia A2 smartphone suggesting that it will include
a 4.3-inch HD display similar to the Xperia Z1 Compact. Also, it is rumored to
be powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor paired with
2 GB of RAM.
The
Xperia A2 is said to pack a 20.7MP rear camera and a 2.2MP front-facing
snapper along with 16GB of native storage space. At this moment, there is no
word regarding the presence of expandable storage support.
