After getting leaked, teased and listed, Motorola earlier today has officially launched the most affordable Moto E in the Indian market. Moto E is Motorola's most affordable smartphone and is the latest low-end flagship from the company. Motorola has launched the Moto E in the country for just Rs. 6,999. The smartphone comes with impressive specs, considering the price tag.

Talking about the pricing and availability first, as stated above Moto E is priced at just Rs. 6,999 and comes with interchangeable back covers, similar to what we saw in Moto G and Moto X. Motorola also plans to launch grip shells for Moto E in the coming weeks. The smartphone support dual-SIM and will be available across India exclusively via Flipkart, India's leading online retailer.

Moto E will go on sale via Flipkart starting mid-night tonight i.e. 00:01 hrs. It comes in Black and White colours. Offer-wise, Flipkart is offering various offers with Moto E, but only for one day. Offers are - 
  • Extra 50% off on a later purchase of original Moto E back covers
  • Extra 50% off on a later purchase of a Transcend 8GB memory card
  • Free preselected eBooks worth Rs. 1,000 on downloading the Free Flipkart eBooks App
According to Flipkart, an acknowledgement will be sent through email by May 21, 2014, to all customers purchasing Moto E with this offer. The discount will be automatically applied on purchase of the items listed under the offer (after the acknowledgement is sent). Meaning that there is no need to add the covers or cards while placing Moto E order. Offer is valid only on Transcend 8GB class 4 memory card listed by seller WS Retail. These can be bought between May 22 and May 31.


Moto E

Coming to specifications now, Moto E comes with a 4.3-inch qHD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and 256 ppi pixel density, 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor, Adreno 302 GPU, 1GB RAM and Android 4.4.2 KitKat. The smartphone is 12.3mm thick and weights 142 grams.

Other specifications include an 5MP rear camera, no front camera, 4GB internal storage with up to 32GB expandable using microSD card and 1,980 mAh battery. Connectivity series include 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 with LE, GPS and GLONASS. The phone also comes with Moto Migrate and Moto Assist apps. 

This Moto E comes with the Motorola Migrate function that makes it easier to switch phones - you can wirelessly transfer all your stuff to the Moto E from your old phone. With Moto Assist, the device also lets you set up actions and exceptions to customize it according to your needs - you can set it up such that it does not ring in a meeting or only important calls are put through when you are asleep.

Lastly, Motorola has released an introduction video of Moto E (embedded below), which reveals that the smartphone will release at least one "will receive at least one software update to the current KitKat 4.4.3 operating system."
