The launch of Galaxy S5 with water proof and dust resistant nature has not ruled out the rugged variant of the flagship model – Galaxy S5 Active. While there are reports suggesting that the handset could go official in the coming months, the handset’s design has been leaked online. The leaked case of the Galaxy S5 Active has hit the web revealing interesting details about the design of the tougher smartphone.
It looks like the handset will bear close resemblance to the design of its predecessor (Galaxy S4 Active) instead of the Galaxy S5. This becomes evident as the leaked case features the four screw caps on the corners at the back similar to those in the yesteryear rugged model. But, the placement of these appears to be slightly different. Also, the speaker grills are now vertically placed.
When it comes to performance, the Galaxy S5 Active is said to be the perfect match to the current flagship model. It is rumoured to sport a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor paired with 2GB of RAM.
Also, it is expected to come with identical camera units including a 16MP sensor at the back and a 2MP snapper at the front. Other specs include Full HD display, Android 4.4.2 KitKat and 16GB ROM.

As more and more rumors regarding the rugged variant are popping up these days, we believe that the handset will be launched soon. However, Samsung remains tight lipped to reveal any detail about the upcoming model.
