Sony Xperia Z2 with 5.2-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 801 SoC, 20.7MP camera officially launched in India for Rs. 49,990
As reported, Sony has officially launched its latest flagship smartphone, the Sony Xperia Z2 in the Indian market. The smartphone was originally announced earlier this year at Mobile World Congress 2014 in February. The Xperia Z2 is the successor of last year announced Xperia Z1 and comes with an impressive specs sheet. Sony has launched the Xperia Z2 in India for Rs. 49,990.
The smartphone comes in three different colours including black, white and purple. According to Sony, the Xperia Z2 will be available across India starting from May 12th. Sony is offering a lot of freebies along with Xperia Z2 as an introductory offer. The Z2 comes with free Smartband worth Rs. 5,990 and protective cover worth Rs. 2,990.
Also, Vodafone customers will get 2GB of free 3G data for the period of two months paired with 6 months Accidental damage protection and more. Online retailers like Infibeam and Flipkart have started taking pre-orders of the Xperia Z2.
Detailing on the specifications, the Xperia Z2 features a 5.2-inch Full HD TRILUMINOUS display boasting a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM, Adreno 330 GPU and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat. It gets front facing "S-Force Front Surround" speakers for a better music experience.
The handset has 16GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to a whopping 128GB using a microSD card. Also, there is a 20.7MP primary shooter with 2K and 4K video recording support and a 2.2MP front-facer for making video calls and clicking self portraits.
Adhering to Sony’s tradition, the Xperia Z2 features the IP56 and IP58 certifications for being water resistant and dust proof. Also, it is powered by a 3,200 mAh battery and has connectivity aspects such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, 3G HSPA+, GPS, MHL 3.0, GLONASS and NFC on-board.
