Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A with 5.1-inch Quad HD display, Snapdragon 805 processor, 3GB RAM officially announced

Samsung announced its this year flagship smartphone — Samsung Galaxy S5 at the MWC 2014 event in Barcelona in February. The Korean tech giant earlier today has officially took the wraps off a new variant of the Galaxy S5 in South Korea. Dubbed as Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A, the smartphone comes with upgraded display resolution, faster processor and faster connectivity.

As the name suggests, the S5 LTE-A comes with wider-bandwidth LTE-A (LTE-Advanced) support and offers download speed up to 225Mbps.

The Galaxy S5 LTE-A comes in Charcoal Black, Shimmering White, Electric Blue, Cooper, Gold and Sweet Pink colours with Glam Red version exclusive for SKT. The smartphone is priced at 940,500 South Korean Won (~ US$919) and will be available via SKT starting June 19th and eventually KT and LGU+. 

Talking about the specifications, Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A comes with a 5.1-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display, 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor, Adreno 420 GPU, 3GB RAM and Android 4.4.2 KitKat with TouchWiz UI on top. The smartphone is 8.1mm thick and weights 145 grams.

Other specifications include an 16MP rear camera with LED flash, 2.1MP front facing camera, 16GB internal storage with up to 128GB supported microSD card slot and 2,800 mAh battery. In addition to all those specs, the smartphone is IP67 dust and water resistant. The smartphone also comes with an fingerprint scanner, heart rate sensor, ultra power saving mode, quick connect, download booster, private mode and kids mode features.
