Samsung has started rolling out the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for the Galaxy Grand 2 in India. Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 was launched in India earlier this year in January running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. This is the first major update for the smartphone. The update is rolling out only over-the-air (OTA), it should reach Samsung PC software Kies soon.
The update weights in at 360.90MB in size. The updates are rolled out in batches, so it might take some time to reach your smartphone. You can manually check for the update by going to Settings > About Phone > Software Update for over-the-air updates.
The update brings Android 4.4.2 KitKat along with Project Svelte optimizations, updated Hangouts with SMS/MMS support, wireless printing support, immersive mode, better stability, improved RAM usage, smoother interface, colour emoji support, improved closed captioning support, stronger security, transparent status bar and more.
TouchWiz wise, the update brings white status bar icons, camera shortcut on the lock screen, music album art on the lock screen and better keyboard layout. If you have updated your Grand 2 to Android 4.4.2 KitKat, then do let us know your review about the update in the comment section below.
