Earlier this year in May, Indian smartphone vendor XOLO rolled out the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for XOLO Q1000 Opus. The company then promised to update other smartphones in its Q Core series to the latest iteration of Android. Now, XOLO has started rolling out the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for two of its smartphones, the Q1010 and the Q1010i.

Android KitKat

The XOLO Q1010 was officially launched in February, while the Q1010i was launched in April, both running on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. This is the first major update for the smartphones since launch.

The Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for XOLO Q1010i is rolling out over-the-air (OTA) and users can also download the update from XOLO website and flash it manually following the instructions given by XOLO here. The update is 298.65MB in size.

On the other hand, the KitKat update for XOLO Q1010 is available for download from XOLO's official website, since the over-the-air (OTA) update is not yet available. You can still wait for the OTA update to arrive, else download the update from here and flash it manually following the instructions from the XOLO support page. The update is 316.14MB in size.

The update brings Android 4.4.2 KitKat along with faster performance, Project Svelte optimizations, updated Hangouts with SMS/MMS support, revamped dialer and download apps, wireless printing support, colour emoji support, restyled status bar with white icons, new camera UI, immersive mode, stronger security and more.

If you have updated your Q1010 and/or Q1010i to Android 4.4.2 KitKat, then do let us know your review about the update in the comment section below.
