The second generation LG smartwatch called LG G Watch R powered by Android Wear that went official ahead of the IFA 2014 tradeshow is reported to go on sale starting from October 14th. Well, it was the German branch of the South Korean tech tycoon that has revealed that the smartwatch will be released next month.
However, there is no word regarding the pricing details. Previously, it was speculated that the wearable device will be priced at 299 euros. We can expect the device to carry a hefty price tag as the LG representative has confirmed that the G Watch R will be costing a minimum of $230, which is the launch price of original G Watch.
If LG prices its second generation smartwatch as speculated, it would become the most expensive Android Wear wearable device available at this point of time.
The device has a stainless steel build and an IP67 certification that makes it water & dust resistant. It comes with a 1.3-inch P-OLED display with resolution of 320x320 pixels, 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB of internal storage, 410mAh battery and series of sensors which include Gyro, Accelerometer, Compass and Barometer.
It is definite that the LG G Watch R is a direct rival to the other Android Wear based smartwatches that are available in the market such as the newly launched Asus ZenWatch and Moto 360.
