Second generation Moto G with 5-inch display, Snapdragon 400 processor, 8MP camera officially announced

After series of leaks and rumours, Motorola on Friday officially took the wraps off the next generation Moto G smartphone. The smartphone is the successor of last year announced Moto G and comes with bigger screen, upgraded camera and more. Moto G comes in black and white colours, and in single-SIM and dual-SIM variants.

The smartphone also comes with array of customizable cases and covers. The new Moto G is already available in US for $179.99 (8GB variant), India, France, UK, Brazil, Spain and Germany. Further availability details of new Moto G will be revealed before the end of this year. 

On the specifications front, the new Moto G comes with a 5-inch HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection and water resistant coating both on outside and inside, 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, Adreno 305 GPU, 1GB RAM and Android 4.4.4 KitKat (almost-stock), with promised Android L update.

The smartphone is 10.99mm thick and weights 149 grams. Other specifications include an 8MP rear camera with LED flash, 2MP front facing camera, 8GB / 16GB internal storage with microSD card support and 2,070 mAh battery. Connectivity series include 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 LE and GPS. Like Moto E, the new Moto G also comes with front facing speakers.
