Google Chromecast and Nexus 6 officially launched in India for Rs. 2,999 and Rs. 43,999 respectively

Google at the Great Online Shopping Festival last week officially announced the launch of Nexus 6 smartphone and the most popular media streaming device, the Google Chromecast in India. Google Nexus 6 went on pre-order in the country last month at Flipkart and now the same will be available at Flipkart and Google Play in the coming days. Whereas, the Google Chromecast is already available exclusively from online retailer Snapdeal.

Google at the Great Online Shopping Festival last week officially announced the launch of Nexus 6 smartphone and the most popular media streaming device, the Google Chromecast in India. Google Nexus 6 went on pre-order in the country last month at Flipkart and now the same will be available at Flipkart and Google Play in the coming days. Whereas, the Google Chromecast is already available exclusively from online retailer Snapdeal.

Talking about the Nexus 6 first, the smartphone comes in Cloud White and Midnight Blue colours and is priced at Rs. 43,999 for the 32GB variant and Rs. 48,999 for the 64GB variant. Flipkart has announced that it has started shipping the last month pre-ordered Nexus 6 smartphones and is offering Rs. 3,000 refund for late delivery to some customers.

Talking about the specifications, Google Nexus 6 comes with a 5.96-inch Quad HD AMOLED display with resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, 493 ppi density and Gorilla Glass 3 protection, 2.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, Adreno 420 GPU, 3GB RAM and latest Android 5.0 Lollipop. The smartphone measures 159.26 x 82.98 x 10.06 mm and weights 184 grams.

Other specifications include an 13MP rear camera with dual-LED ring flash, 4K recording support and OIS, 2MP front facing camera, 32GB / 64GB internal storage without expandable support and 3,220 mAh battery. Connectivity series include 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac 2x2 MIMO, GPS and NFC support. 

Google Chromecast

Talking about the Google Chromecast now, this multimedia streaming device from Google has officially landed in the Indian market. Google has launched the Chromecast exclusively on Snapdeal and has priced the same at Rs. 2,999. The streamer will also be available from select Airtel stores in the country.

As an introductory offer, Airtel is offering free 20GB Broadband data per month for 3 months and Eros Now is offering free 2 months Eros Now Premium subscription to those who purchase Chromecast.

Google Chromecast is a thumb-sized media streaming device that plugs into the HDMI port on your TV and is used to cast favorite entertainment and apps right to the big screen. Chromecast works with the devices you already own including smartphones, tablets and laptops. It was originally announced way back in July 2013 in U.S. Apps that work with Chromecast include YouTube, Google Play Movies, Google+,  Chrome, Eros Now, Spuul, YuppTV, Twitch, Plex, Viki, Just Dance Now and more.
