Xiaomi has officially launched the successor of its Mi 3 smartphone in the Indian market. Dubbed as Xiaomi Mi 4, the smartphone was launched in India during the last week of January 2015 and will go on sale in the country later today. Like other Xiaomi products, the Mi 4 will also be available exclusively at Flipkart via flash sales method. Xiaomi has priced the same at Rs. 19,999.
The registrations for Mi 4 sale begin on January 28th and was closed minutes ago. According to Flipkart, more than 3,00,000 people have registered for today's sale. Xiaomi has revealed that upto 25,000 units of Mi 4 are up for grabs.
The Mi 4 flash sale starts at 2PM and soon after Xiaomi will be hosting the next Redmi Note 4G sale as well at 5PM. Xiaomi has launched the 16GB white colour 3G variant of Mi 4 in the country, no word on the launch of 64GB variant or other colour models. The company also notes that it plans to hold as many as two flash sales a week for Mi 4 in the country.
Talking about the specifications, Xiaomi Mi 4 comes with a 5-inch Full HD IPS OGS display with 441 ppi pixel density and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, Adreno 330 GPU, 3GB RAM and Android 4.4 KitKat with MIUI v6 on top. The smartphone is 8.9mm thick and weights 149 grams.
Other specifications include a 13MP rear camera with LED flash, a 8MP front facing camera, 16GB internal storage and 3,080 mAh battery. Connectivity series include 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0 LE and GPS / GLONASS. The smartphone also comes with support for Infra-red sensor and nano-coating.
