Asus officially launches Zenfone 2 in India starting at Rs. 12,999, 4GB variant starts at Rs. 18,999

Asus had officially announced the launch of its flagship smartphone, the Asus Zenfone 2 in the Indian market couple of weeks back. Asus Zenfone 2 is the world's first smartphone to come with 4GB of RAM and was originally announced at the CES 2015 tech show in January. The Zenfone 2 launched in India comes in half dozen variants or say in 6 offerings.

All the six variants comes with different display resolution, processor, RAM and storage. Rest of the specifications are common in all the variants. Asus has launched two variants of Zenfone 2 with 2GB RAM and four variants of the same with 4GB RAM.

Like all the other Asus smartphones, the new Zenfone 2 series is also available exclusively from online retailer Flipkart. According to Asus, the Zenfone 2 will also be available in Asus Experience stores across the country.

• Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML (Rs. 14,999) - Full HD display, 1.8GHz Z3560 processor, 2GB RAM & 16GB storage (Silver)

• Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML (Rs. 18,999) - Full HD display, 1.8GHz Z3560 processor, 4GB RAM & 32GB storage (Silver) Coming Soon

• Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML (Rs. 19,999) - Full HD display, 2.3GHz Z3580 processor, 4GB RAM & 32GB storage (Silver)

• Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML (Rs. 22,999) - Full HD display, 2.3GHz Z3580 processor, 4GB RAM & 64GB storage (Silver)

• Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML (Rs. 29,999) - Full HD display, 2.3GHz Z3580 processor, 4GB RAM & 128GB storage (Silver) Coming Soon

Out of all the six variants, two variants of Zenfone 2 are still listed as coming soon on Flipkart. We will update the post as soon as these two variants are available in the country.

Talking of the common specifications now, the Zenfone 2 comes with a 5.5-inch display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, quad-core 64-bit Intel Atom processor, PowerVR G6430 GPU, Android 5.0 Lollipop with Zen UI on top, 13MP rear camera with dual-LED flash, 5MP front facing camera, microSD card support and 3,000 mAh battery.

The smartphone measures 152.5 x 77.2 x 10.9 mm and weights 170 grams. All the Zenfone 2 variants comes with dual-SIM support. Connectivity series include 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS support.
