Lenovo unveils K80 featuring 4GB RAM and 4,000 mAh battery, priced at $290

Asus Zenfone 2 was the first smartphone to feature 4GB RAM, then came the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro. To take on both the smartphones, Lenovo had officially announced a new mid-range Android smartphone last week featuring whopping 4 gigs of RAM. Dubbed as Lenovo K80, the smartphone is the latest one in the company's K series and comes in black, white and red colors.

According to Lenovo, the K80 will be released in 2 variants, one with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage and the other with 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The 4GB variant of Lenovo K80 is now on sale in China. The 2GB variant will be available soon, says Lenovo. There is no word on when the K80 will be available in other markets.

Lenovo has priced the 4GB variant of K80 at 1799 Chinese Yuan, which is approx. Rs. 18,450 or $290, and the 2GB RAM variant costs 1499 Chinese Yuan, which converts to Rs. 15,374 or $241.

Talking about the specifications, Lenovo K80 comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD display, 1.8GHz quad-core 64-bit Intel Atom processor, Android 5.0 Lollipop, 13MP rear camera with LED flash and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), 5MP front facing camera and massive 4,000 mAh battery.

The smartphone is 8.47 mm thick and weights 158 grams. Connectivity series include 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and NFC support.
