Android One smartphones in India to be updated to Lollipop in the next few weeks

After waiting for more than three months, Google India has officially announced that the wait for Lollipop update on Android One smartphones is about to end. Google India has announced via a tweet on Twitter that the Lollipop update for Android One smartphones which include Micromax Canvas A1, Spice Dream UNO and Karbonn Sparkle V will be rolled out in the next few weeks.

Google has finally launched the Android One initiative in the Indian market. The first and the cheapest of three Android One smartphones that are launched in India is the Spice Dream UNO. The smartphone was spotted on Flipkart recently and comes with entry-level specifications. The Spice Dream UNO comes in black and white colours and is priced at Rs. 6,299.

Since the announcement of Android One program back at Google I/O in June, we have been hearing a lot about the first Android One smartphones to launch in India sometime in September. Lately, Google started sending out press invites to the Indian tech press media for attending an event on September 15th, where the search engine giant will be debuting the first Android One smartphones in the country manufactured by Karbonn, Micromax and Spice.
