According to the listing published on software update page of Telstra, Samsung will be skipping the Android 4.2.2 JB update for Galaxy Note 2 and will move directly to next Android version update, which probably is Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. According to them, Samsung has decided to directly move to newer version of Android rather than Android 4.2.2.
"Samsung have elected globally to skip the 4.2.2 update for this device and will instead go to a newer version of Android. No schedule has been provided for this update," Telstra noted.
As Samsung has not yet disclosed any information regarding this update, its better to take the information as a pinch of salt. But, looking at the report published by Sammobile, Samsung has planned to cancel the Android 4.2.2 update for both Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2.
So, the only question is, will Samsung update or wait and go straight ahead with the Android 4.3 updates, which is expected to be announced on 24th July by Google with next-generation Nexus 7.
