Android 4.4.2 KitKat update now rolling out for Samsung Galaxy Note II in India

After rolling out the KitKat update for the Galaxy Note II in France last week, Samsung has now started rolling the same for the Note II users in India. The update is rolling out over-the-air and also via Samsung's PC software Kies. This is the second major update for the Galaxy Note II, last was the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update in November 2013.

Great news for Galaxy Note 2 owners, Samsung has finally started rolling out the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for the international model of Galaxy Note 2. The update is currently rolling out via Kies and is available in France. It is expected to arrive in other markets in the coming days. To remind you, this is the second major update of the smartphone, last was the Android 4.3 update which happened in November 2013.

China Mobile officially announces Samsung Galaxy Note II with Snapdragon 600 processor

Today morning, Samsung has exclusively unveiled the Snapdragon 600-powered Galaxy Note 2 in China. The smartphone was announced by China Mobiles, the country's and the world's largest carrier. Samsung Galaxy Note 2 with SD600 was spotted recently in AnTuTu Benchmarks scoring 26,901 points. This new Galaxy Note 2 comes with model number GT-N7108D. 

The new Samsung Galaxy Note II is very much identical to the original Galaxy Note 2, but with the new chipset, the users have support for the operator's TD-LTE, FDD-LTE and TD-SCDMA enabled networks, which offers increased 4G speed, alongside regular WCDMA and GSM networks.

After the insertion of SD600 chip inside the Galaxy Note 2, the device has become even more faster. The specifications of Galaxy Note 2 N7108D is still the same as the original — 5.5-inch HD sAMOLED display, 2GB RAM, 8MP rear camera with 1.9MP front facing camera, 16GB internal storage with microSD card support and 3100mAh battery.

The Galaxy Note 2 N7108D comes with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with TouchWiz Nature UX 2.0 on top of it. According to AnTuTu leak, the processor of N7108D is clocked at 1.9GHz.

Unfortunately, this Snapdragon 600-powered Galaxy Note 2 is going to be China-only. So, best we can do is to wait for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, which is going to come with even more faster Snapdragon 800 processor and 3GB RAM.

Telstra: Samsung to skip Android 4.2.2 Update for Galaxy Note 2

According to the listing published on software update page of Telstra, Samsung will be skipping the Android 4.2.2 JB update for Galaxy Note 2 and will move directly to next Android version update, which probably is Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. According to them, Samsung has decided to directly move to newer version of Android rather than Android 4.2.2.
